Don’t Get Discouraged with your Computer

Sometimes you’re looking at your computer monitor and you get so frustrated because something is not working or a web page is not loading. I think this an area that we all quickly could lose our cool. This can add stress in any situation resulting in a muscle in your back or neck tightening up ect ect. You don’t realize that getting mad at your computer can be unhealthy! The funny thing is, your computer can’t do anything to help you. You have to be able to take a step back and take a deep breath and relax before you can find the solution to the problem. Sometimes the solution is still not obvious at which point you should ask for help. There’s nothing wrong with that. You will save yourself unwanted stress in the process. The key thing about your computer is that it’s like a treasure chest, if you don’t look into the treasure chest, you won’t discover anything. Taking the time to click on things just to see what they do can’t hurt your c... »

A New Way to Look at New Year’s Resolutions

As a personal trainer and aerobic instructor I can speak from experience. Every health club and gym, every yoga studio and Cross Fit location will be packed to the brim the week after New Year’s. Commercials will feature weight loss plans, diet drinks and new exercise equipment promising to carve off inches and burn off fat. Magazines will run thousands of advertisements for protein shakes and diet bars claiming to add energy and years to your life while peeling off the pounds that Americans gain between Thanksgiving and New Years. It is a predictable cycle of marketing because it is a predictable state that people find themselves in each and every January. I believe that we are all a complex blend of the physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual. Each component affects the others, be it positively or negatively. So in 2012, consider a new approach to setting goals. Create resolutions that are more holistic in nature and encompass more than just a weight loss goal. Now, I am not... »

5 REASONS TO DANCE IN 2012

Hey Friends! Happy New Year. As your dance guru I wanted to share 5 reasons you should get up and dance in 2012. There are lots of great ways to do and be on the lookout for some fun quickie dance videos from me in the next couple months. Have a great new year! 1. Dancing to your favorite jams causes the body to release endorphins (the feel-good hormones produced through exercise!). You’ll feel good and work out with a smile on your face. 2. Dance does not discriminate! People from all walks of life can come together and build new friendships through dancing together. 3. When paired with a good meal plan and done 2-3 times a week, dance will help you lose weight. For me, it definitely beats the treadmill. 4. Some call it therapy, some call it medicine. Either way, it’s an affordable way to get weight loss results. 5. The number one reason to shake what your mama gave you is because it’s FUN! And that is definitely something we all need to have more of in our lives. »

Would You Marry You?

Are you a person that someone would want to spend the rest of their life with? Are you somebody that another could tolerate day in and day out? If you are in a season where you are looking for the perfect Mr. or Ms. Right, remember that perfection runs two ways. Nobody can give us what we don’t already have. Our partner can not be to us what we are not already. Each person is responsible for their own happiness. We must find our passion, our purpose and our fulfillment within ourselves. If you are not living to your capabilities and giving your all, why would you pawn yourself off to someone else? It is a mistake to think that another person will complete us. You must never go into a relationship as half of a person. This is a recipe for disaster, and divorce. Take the time to work on self-love, self-confidence and self esteem before you begin interviewing for a partner. When you truly feel a peace about who and what you are…then the perfect someone will walk right through your door. »
